Why Aljex Transportation Software?

Aljex Software was created to fill a void in a transportation company. In 1985 we were in the brokerage business and decided to computerize our company with a state-of-the-art computer from Radio Shack. We started with billing and accounting functions, and as our company grew, we realized we were outgrowing the system. We started a warehouse division, an air freight division, and an intermodal division. We needed software to handle ALL of these functions.

We looked at many other software packages, but they were geared toward large trucking companies. There were a few brokerage software packages that seemed to be written by people who had no idea about brokering. Finally, and reluctantly, we decided the only way to get what we wanted was custom programming. We hired a programmer and developed our own software.

We incorporated the best ideas from many other programs and improved them. We tried anything we could to improve productivity. Some ideas were successful and some were not. The Aljex Transportation program is the result of thousands of hours of programming and many years of testing.

Our customers were impressed at our ability to give them quick answers; our accountant was impressed with the financial information we could provide. Importantly, we were happy to have major increases in productivity and, more importantly, profitability.
