The obliteration of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 left a huge organizational hole for relief efforts. New York City's Interfaith Fellowship, a non-denominational group, stepped in and oversaw the efforts at Ground Zero to feed and house relief workers.
Interfaith WTC Relief needed three logos: one for the organization itself -- "Interfaith WTC Relief"; one for temporary housing -- "Temporary Housing for Relief Workers"; and one for food efforts -- "Ground Zero Food Services". So they invited logo entries. We donated a set of designs combining the trade towers with Interfaith's mesage of love and hope.
Kuru's three entries won in each category. 'Nuff said. We also created a business card and stationery based on our designs.

Terapin Technology introduced a new MP3 CD player / recorder / rewriter product and neded a logo. We created the logo concept and its design, as well as a press kit and diagrams for the product.
The logo is a pun based on the term "ripping" for the process of converting songs from standard CD-DA audio into the compressed MP3 format. Software or hardware which performs this function is called a "ripper".
Going from "ripper" to "reaper" is natural enough, so we picked a scythe as the ultimate reaper. Particularly since the device, as the slogan we created says, "cuts your CD collection down to size". A modified gothic font rounds out the concept, as the metallic scythe rises from the "R" and towers over the "reaper".

Random Place
Random Place needed a logo that summed up its aggregation of performance art, philosophy, and jumbled ideas. This image also appears on the front of its business card.

Wordstuff is a full-service communications firm. When it launched the business, WordStuff wanted a logo that made a statement. We developed a logo based on the graphic designer's inside joke about how publications using too many fonts end up resembling a "ransom note".
This logo appears on its business cards, which is printed in shades of bronze and a glossy black. The same logo also appears on its Website.

Providet is one of the larger suppliers of commercial and residential services in the NY/NJ/PA area. It specializes in industrial and residential duct cleaning, kitchen vent hood cleaning, air filter installation and maintenance, and similar services. Messy jobs, but ones that have to be done right.
As part of updating its printed materials, Providet wanted new logos for itself, and for its commercial and residential services subsidiaries. (We also created new business cards, stickers, work orders, and stationery.)
We created a logo for the parent company, a steam whistle logo for the commercial services card, and a happy house for the home services card. In addition, each logo has a font appropriate for it. To keep costs down, all printed materials use black and a single shade of blue, with several tints providing more colors.
Providet insisted that its logo present its "Christian" business viewpoint. Instead of a large crucifix, we created a logo where the center portion of the P is replaced with a cross. Simple and clean, yet direct.

The Clean as a Whistle business handles industrial services, such as kitchen exhaust cleaning. Given the company's emphasis on steam cleaning, we created a steam whistle and a font which suggested a burst of movement and steam. (Please note that the low-resolution GIF cannot accurately display fine details in the font.)

The Home Air Care business handles residential services, such as airduct cleaning and air filter installation. We created a happy house -- since the ducts are clean and burden the furnace less -- and used an airy, friendly font.

AMB Deer Processing specializes in converting a hunter's legally taken deer into food for the table -- steaks, chops, ground meat, smoked-meat products, etc. AMB provides professional cutting and packaging identical to what you would expect from a professional butcher, and its skill has made it one of the largest professional deer processors in New Jersey.
AMB Deer asked us to produce a and Website and business card. We developed a logo based, naturally enough, on a deer. A color version appears on the company's Website, but the logo designed for printed matter uses only black ink in various shadings to keep costs down.
